LITTLE ROCK, AR – The unemployment rate in Arkansas has dropped to 7.1%, according to the Department of Workforce Services.
Labor force data, produced by the U.S. Department of Labor and Bureau of Labor Statistics who Arkansas’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped from 7.3% in August to 7.1% in September. Arkansas’ civilian labor force decreased 2,700 in September, a result of 1,900 fewer unemployed and 800 fewer employed Arkansans. The United States’ jobless rate declined 3/10 of a percentage point in September, falling to 7.8%.
”The number of both employed and unemployed Arkansans declined this month, resulting in a decrease in the size of the civilian labor force,” Department of Workforce Services Communications Director Kimberly Friedman said. “This decline in the rate mirrors the trend seen at the national level.”
