BENTON, AR– A man is going to prison for the armed robbery of the Holiday Inn Express in Bryant last summer.
Judge Grisham Phillips has sentenced 33-year-old Angelo Miller of Little Rock to 30 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.
On June 15, 2012, Mr. Miller and a co-defendant entered the business with the co-defendant posing as a customer while Mr. Miller rushed in with a gun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded money.
The two got away with $100 from the register, and additional $3 from the clerk and her cell phone.
Upon looking at the surveillance video, a description of the vehicle was given out to law enforcement and the vehicle was spotted at a motel in Little Rock.
Mr. Miller later confessed that the two had been involved in several other armed robberies.
Miller pleaded guilty to Aggravated Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Theft of Property.
Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Ken Casady said that Aggravated Robbery is a 70% crime, meaning Miller will have to serve at least 21 years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
