Ask the Doctor: Postpartum Depression

While pregnancy and birth can be a time of joy for many women, new research shows 60 to 80-percent of mothers experience some form of  sadness after giving birth. One in 10 experience serious postpartum depression.

In today's Ask the Doctor, we have Dr. Zachary Stowe, medical director of the Women’s Mental Health Program at the Psychiatric Research Institute at UAMS.

Dr. Stowe will be the featured speaker at a UAMS luncheon today from 11:30 to 1 p.m. It's part of the Psychiatric Research Institute’s “Beautiful Minds” lecture series.

Dr. Stowe will be discussing “Women’s Mental Health During Pregnancy – Preconception Through Postpartum.”
