LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Tensions ran high at Arkansas Baptist College on Monday after almost two dozen students claim to have not received their financial aid.
The students say they've tried talking to folks in the financial aid office and the President's office, but keep getting the run-around.
They claim the financial aid should have been in their hands on March 1 at the latest.
President of the University, Dr. Fitz Hill, says they've switched to a new automated system and it's a process.
That didn't deter one concerned mother, who drove in from Memphis to try and get answers for her daughter.
"She's been waiting since October for her money, and every time we come it's, 'well you signed your papers and you did this, you need to go over to the other office,'" says Allison Allen.
"I've been a college student, I understand the process," Dr. Hill says. "I was only able to get through school with student loans, so I understand those types of things, so as we better improve our process, we will also be able to better serve our students. But with that said, our students have to understand there is a new process."
Dr. Hill and the financial aid director both met with each student individually Monday.
This is only the second year of financial aid being done by an automated system.
