BENTON, AR – Two men are under arrest and police say more arrests are possible in a recent bank robbery. Police say the pair arrested are brothers.

Benton and Bryant Police Departments, worked together to apprehend a suspect in the recent bank robbery at First Security Bank. The suspect, Bruce Echols (W/M, 52 YOA), was arrested Saturday following information received from a citizen.

Bryant Police Department was following up on the case when they came into contact with another suspect on a traffic stop, 50 year old Terry Echols. Detectives with the Benton Police Department responded to the scene of the traffic stop and interviewed Terry Echols about the robbery. Detectives learned that his brother, Bruce Echols, was possibly involved in the bank robbery. Detectives made contact with Bruce Echols, and they say he confessed to robbing the First Security bank September 6, 2012.

Bruce Echols is charged with Aggravated Robbery, Theft of Property, Unauthorized Use of Another Person's Property to Facilitate a Crime, and for a previous warrant on a Terroristic Threatening charge. Terry Echols is charged with Theft by Receiving. Both subjects were transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing and are awaiting a bond hearing.

Detectives recovered a substantial amount of the stolen money and other evidence from the suspects. Other charges and arrests are possible as the investigation continues.

Anyone with additional information relating to this case is encouraged to contact the Benton Police Department at 778-1171 or leave a tip at 315-TIPS. Individuals also may send an anonymous crime tip to CRIMES (274637) with the keyword BNPD in the body of the text.

So sad... ArkansasYankee- I agree with you. Crime definitely ain't going anywhere soon. It's going to get worst before it gets better, that's if it gets better.

pat; the entire country is a cesspool of crime. I've lived in the DC area, Tucson, El Paso, San Antonio, Atlanta and some out of the way places since high school. About the only place where crime wasn't in the paper everyday was Tucson; but that was 30 years ago; things may have changed there since then. It's been here since Plymouth Rock and Jamestown. Women were murdered in Salem. Riots in NY during the Civil War. Italian crime bosses. Capone and Bugsy in the Windy City. Not to mention the politicians of the past and present. It ain't going away anytime soon either. Seems each year a different city wins the prize for most murders. Houston and Detroit are 2 that come to mind. It may not be in our time; but when JC comes back, He'll take out the trash. The ghetto thugs, the methbilly's, the crime bosses, the crooked judges, DA's, politicians, et al.

I guess some have just started reading news. Yes crime is running wild. The trouble being that the police are being arrested for committing a lot of it. Let us say we hope the honest ones don't back off. Just a badge and gun does not an honest officer make. Think of all the ones arrested in the last year wearing badges selling drugs.

Put them away and keep them there. before they graduate to KILLING SOMEONE or FORCING ONE OF OUR OFFICERS TO OPEN FIRE WHILE BEING CHASED. I just hope the unfortunate incidents with the police in Alexander and the 15 yr. old (out on $100,000 bond) don't cause our officers to back off. CRIME IS OUT OF CONTROL and Little Rock is a CESSPOOL OF CRIME. God help us if they don't feel like we are supporting them. THE ONLY ones who aren't supporting them are connected to criminal activity in some way related. "He never hurt no one and he has a son who is left without a father..." what kind of a father?
