Even a mention of road construction to drivers in West Little Rock, yields an almost immediate response.

"Do you mean the cloverleaf?" said Joshua Plumlee.

This area has become almost synonymous with closures, delays, and detours. Plumlee said he avoids it at all costs.

"I usually take the back roads anyway," he said.

"If you're in a hurry and have small kids in the car it can be frustrating," said Sheila Sieving.

This weekend the southeast cloverleaf loop is closed while crews add beams to a new bridge.

That means  if you're in the Financial Centre Parkway and Shackleford road area, you aren't able to head north on I-430.

Out-of-town shoppers who were taking advantage of tax free weekend told KARK it's hard to wrap their heads around all the changes.

"I try to be patient through it," said Brady Gadberry.

Understanding a few delays now will hopefully  pay off in the long run.

Some were even impressed with the undertaking.

"Every time I go through it, it seems like they're making pretty good progress," said Gadberry.
