LITTLE ROCK, AR - Shoppers are not waiting until Friday to take advantage of deals. Several Little Rock area stores opened their doors on Thanksgiving with special offers to bring in customers.

K-Mart on Rodney Parham Rd opened its doors at 6am to a line of more than 100 people. The bid draw is high definition televisions, appliances and digital cameras.

Store manager Jerry Armstrong says working on Thanksgiving is becoming a tradition.

"It is fun. Everybody is pleasant, in a great mood,” Armstrong says. Because they know when they go home they're going to eat some turkey."

The aptly named Pilgrim couple from Conway says they spent over $150 in just a few minutes.

"I'm doing it early before all that Thanksgiving football comes on," Thomas Pilgrim says.

K-Mart opens at 5am on Friday. A host of other stores open even earlier for Black Friday. Target starts letting customers in at the stroke of midnight.
