Body Found Near Burns Park

Police recover the body of an unidentified male in backwater near Burns Park.
Update (July 3):
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - A body found last week in backwater of the Arkansas River at North Little Rock's Burns Park has been identified.

North Little Rock Police say Delfino Hernandez, 58, lived in Mexico and had traveled from there to Mobile, Alabama with a friend.

A family member told police Hernandez was headed to Florida for work.

The friend traveling with him reported that Hernandez began to hallucinate and he lost contact with him in Mobile.

Police are trying to find out how Hernandez ended up in Arkansas and what led to his death.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - North Little Rock Police recovered the body of an unidentified male in a body of water near Burns Park Saturday morning, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

Water Patrol and investigators responded to the scene after police located the man's body in "backwater," roughly a half a mile from the Burns Park boat ramp.

The body was turned over to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office and taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for identification and determination of cause of death.
