JACKSONPORT, AR – The body of a 23 year old drowning victim was recovered this morning. Investigators say he was last seen swimming with others about a mile upstream from where his body was found.

Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas says Justin Cavillo’s body was found at 9:00am Saturday morning. The Sheriff says witnesses told authorities that Calvillo floated off from friends at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Witnesses say Calvillo started struggling and went underwater.

Sheriff Lucas tells us multiple agencies were involved in the recovery efforts including dive teams from Independence County and Pocahontas. The Jackson County Sheriff says divers initially found Calvillo's body in about 18 feet of water on Friday but were unable to recover it because of a strong current.

Calvillo was last seen alive, swimming with others near the intersection of the White and Black Rivers outside Jacksonport.
