FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - A judge has agreed to cut in half the bond amount for a professional clown accused of possessing child pornography, provided he wears an ankle monitor.

A Sebastian County Jail deputy said Tuesday that 47-year-old Thomas Harold Morgan remained in custody, a day after his bail was reduced to $50,000.

Morgan's parents assured the court that they'd put up their St. Peters, Mo., condominium to back a bond to secure their son's release.

Morgan is charged with four counts of possessing images that depict children engaging in sexually explicit conduct. He could face 70 years in prison. More charges are possible.

Prosecutors argued against the bond reduction.

The Southwest Times Record reports that Morgan would be banned from the Internet and having contact with children if he's released.

Maybe someone arranged it so that "someone" got the other 50K?

Reinforces the stereotype we all have of creepy clowns. Thanks judge. I will sleep better at night knowing this piece of trash may be back on the street. Ankle monitors don't mean a thing.
