In its second stunning hiring this year, Arkansas tabbed Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema to take over a program that went into a tailspin after former coach Bobby Petrino was fired for hiring his mistress to work in the athletic department.

itsjustme. I don't believe for a minute that many of those athletes get an education, prompted by this overpaid coach. Too many of them are proving they are nothing more than JUVENILE DELINQUENTS AND THUGS. $3MILLION IS OBSCENE FOR A COACH, AS ARE THE SALARIES OF PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES. THEY ARE GROWN MEN PLAYING A CHILD'S GAME AND ENJOYING IT...YES, THAT'S WHAT THEY CHOSE TO DO. If their working days are cut short, that is also what they chose...be prepared. THEY JUST AREN'T WORTH THAT KIND OF MONEY. MS ELLIE...I AGREE WITH YOU. WE TURN THE LIVES OF OUR CHILDREN OVER TO TEACHERS MAKING $35,000 TO $75,000 FOR 12-18 YEARS. THERE IS A LOT WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE. MAYBE WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM IS THE PRIORITIES ARE UPSIDE DOWN.

ITSJUSTME...DO YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THESE GUYS EARN THEIR ABILITY TO MAKE A LIVING IN THE REAL WORLD (I know a few do)...OUTSIDE OF BEING PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES BEING PAID AN OBSCENE SALARY TO PLAY A CHILD'S GAME...TAUGHT BY A MAN WHO IS PAID $3MLLION FOR THE REASONS YOU SAID. MS ELLIE....I AGREE WITH YOU. THE COACH'S SALARY IS OBSCENE. WE TURN THE LIVES OF OUR CHILDREN OVER TO TEACHERS FOR 12-18 YEARS MAKING $35,000 TO $75,000. IT IS WRONG. SPORTS IS WAY OVERRATED TO ENTERTAIN. On top of that, so many of them prove themselves to be nothing more than overgrown JUVENILE DELINQUENTS. Tell me again about those grades they are getting.

Doesn't matter who the coach is if he doesn't instill discipline in his players you still have a losing team. Players at all of these schools that play a "GAME" need to learn play the game, run the play, and go back to the huddle with the "TEAM MATES" instead of standin up talking trash or making gestures to other players, arguing with the officials or yelling at the fans. With that said. WAR EAGLE.

Ms Ellie, the reason why head coaches make a lot more than professors is because the head coaches, if good enough, generate a hell of a lot more money than teachers. If you do not have good athletics, you do not have good enrollment. Athletics is why a lot of kids go to college, get scholarships and spend money at the school. If you'll notice, there is a graduation percentage incentive in his compensation package. It is not only the head coaches job to recruit talent, develop the talent, get the victories and so forth on the field, it is also their job to help the athlete develop into a productive member of society, get an education and do something positive in life. It doesnt always work out that way, but for the most it does.

Now when we struggle to pay for tuition each semester I will feel so much better knowing that our hard earned money is going to pay a man to teach other men how to damage themselves for the rest of their lives so others can go cheer like in the days of the Roman gladiators. Pay a man what he is worth… no one is worth the kind of money he is getting paid. If guys or gals want to play football let them. Pay someone to coach them… but pay him no more than the highest paid full time professor is being paid at that college… better yet pay them what the head librarian is getting paid. We will either get a coach getting fair pay or we will have the best paid librarian in the world.

Thank you Arkansas! The first time you are in a big game, get the ball back with 2 min in the half and he takes a knee you will know why I am saying this. The Badgers lost 2 games in regulation by 3 pts and also all 3 games that went into overtime. That is a coaching issue. Look at the talent he had last year in Russel Wilson, Montee Ball, JJ Watt and an O line bigger than almost all pro teams and he messed that up. Look how he has lost the last 2 Rose Bowls. Check media in Madison and see how happy the majority of Badger Nation is now and you guys paid him more $.

I guess we'll have to give him a couple of years to see how well he does. Current team stinks; maybe he can bring in some talent the next couple of years, and things will get better. Hope he does background checks on the recruits. And yes, leave the bike and girlfriend in Wisconsin please.
