Bridges Shut Down After Barge Scare

I-30 and pedestrian bridges shut down after barges hit protective barriers.
Little Rock, AR -- Dozens of officials flocked to the I-30 bridge this evening after a barge hit the protective barriers.

The Highway Transportation Department says two barges, being pushed by a tugboat, somehow broke loose from a cable and hit the barriers on the I-30 bridge and the pedestrian bridge by the Clinton Library.

The barges only nicked the barriers.

The bridges were shut down for several hours while investigators inspected the bridges for damage.

The Coast Guard will decide if the person operating the tugboat will receive any citations for this incident.

No one was hurt.
