Candlelight Vigil Planned For DJ Killed In 2012

Vigil to be held Wednesday night for MaXx Anderson who was killed in Garland County in 2012.
GARLAND COUNTY, AR -- It's been a difficult year for the family of a man who was shot and killed in Garland County 16 months ago.

So far, no arrests have been made.

34-year-old MaXx Anderson was well known in the community.

He worked as a publisher and editor of Arkansas Vibe Magazine.

He also hosted his own show, called MaXx In The Morning, on KLAZ.

But on February 29th, 2012 he was found shot to death outside a home on Lake Hamilton and his family still wants to know why.

Hanging up posters and passing out flyers is how Anderson's family will spend the next couple of days.

They're preparing for a vigil in his honor -- Wednesday night -- at the Garland County Courthouse.

His father, Gary Anderson, said, "We need to do something and nothing else is getting done at this point."
Anderson's older sister Tara Lukach is organizing the vigil.

16 months waiting for answers on her brother's death has been overwhelming.

She sighed saying, "It's tough."

So, she's taking a proactive approach working on planning and preparing for this upcoming vigil.

She said, "It's tearing each of us apart individually and watching each other fall apart when it seems there's nothing being done and it feels nothing is going to be done."

The family hopes the event will spark new interest in Anderson's case and give them the answers they've been hoping for.

The candlelight vigil will be held this Wednesday night at 7:30 at the Garland County Courthouse.

The family says anyone is welcome to come.
