A car and a train crashed sending four people to the hospital, including a one year old and a three year old. It happened at Geyer Springs at the railroad crossing.

"It's bad," Marilyn Critser said who lives close to the crash. That was Critsers first reaction when she heard the train twisting metal on a Crown Vic. "I think of death really," Critser said.  She lives just feet away from the crash. "It's so close, the kids are the ones that are gonna be bad," Critser said.

"You can see by looking at the car, I think someone was hurt pretty bad," said Terrance Young.  Surprisingly that isn't the case.

The driver was Clinton Bedford, in the back seat, a one year old and a 3 year old, none of their injuries are serious.

Bedford, who has several warrants out on him, gave police a fake name and had drugs on him. Police say when the crossing gate came down he pulled out of the line of cars and tried to beat the eastbound train.

Police say this isn't the first time there has been an accident there. There have been several deadly accidents, where a car meets a train right here. "It's very dangerous, people don't realize it.  It takes the train one mile to stop, the train has nowhere to go," said John Schumacher.

"They shouldn't have done it," Critser said. "I learned to take my time going across the track," Young said.   It is a lesson all of us can benefit from.

Clinton Bedford was arrested and charged with careless and prohibited driving.

This accident is the third time a vehicle and a train have collided this week in Arkansas. On Monday, a train collided with a garbage truck at Burns Park in North Little Rock. No one was hurt.

In Ashdown, which is in Little River County, two men were killed after the pickup truck they were in was struck by a train. We’re told, they were trying to cross the tracks.

I disagree this man did not get what he deserves. Too bad there were children in the car. He indangered their lives and others by his recluse behaviour. He should not be able to walk out of jail for a long long time. I do agree he is a moron. Since he had drugs on him they can get him that way. Anyone that does drugs around children should be investigated anyway.

Too late for cash for clunkers/junkers. I doubt he learned a lesson as stupid as he must be. Well just scrap the heap for a penny a pound and buy a bicycle so your not endangering your family anymore.
