Cars crushed underneath the 430 bridge

LITTLE ROCK, AR – A tractor trailer carrying cars was too tall for the I-430 bridge over Colonel Glenn Road. Five cars were damaged Monday afternoon as the trailer went underneath the bridge, crushing the car on top and damaging the cars below.

No one was injured in the accident. It took several hours for work crews to extricate the trailer and mangled cars from the underside of the bridge. One car was so badly damaged in the wreck that it looked more like a ball of crumpled foil than a car.

The trailer was heading eastbound, in the left turn lane, on Colonel Glenn Road when the accident happened. The Highway Department does not expect the incident to cause any structural damage to the bridge.

I thought this was about the accident not grammer. I do hope it didn't damage the bridge. If it did though the driver's insurance should pay for it not the taxpayer's.

Walter thanks for the info. Someone told me that earlier. But anyone can hit the wrong key sometimes and I don't use my spell-check all the time. There are times when I have to stop and do something else unexpectedly. Also the fact that people text so much now using just a few letters instead of spelling out the entire word could have something to do with it at times. But still you atleast gave me information without resorting to insults to do it. Thank you I do like and accept respectfully given knowlege.

For sparrowhawk60, some truck drivers don't load their own trucks, but car-haulers DO load and unload their own trucks. The overpass was either not marked, or incorrectly marked. Along with a momentary loss of judgment.

Poor old Charlie Brown, four years of college and never learned grammar or spelling... Charlie, when there (not their) is a red squiggly line under a word, or words, something isn't correct (spelling or grammar). This is called "spell-check", and you paid for it when you bought your computer. There, I hope that helps in the future, and there is no charge.

Charliebrown: Where did you obtain your 4 years of college? Wherever it was they did not require you to learn spelling, grammar, or punctuation.Hate to know thats how far our universities have been "dumbed down". LOL

@charliebrown... the 1st sentence alone in the last comment makes my bachelor's degree worth less that what I had once assumed.
