The guys over at Splash Car Wash gave me a call to see if I wanted get my feet wet. Of course, I accepted and met with the owner, Jesse.
"Tell me what we're going to be doing for my job."
"Today we're going to have you do an interior super clean which is one of our popular services here at Splash and you're going to get a little sweaty," Jesse said.
"Maybe a little tan?"
"Alright let's get to it."
As I prepare myself - the line grows.
After watching a couple demonstrations - I start out with some nice customer service.
"Welcome to Splash Car Wash, how are you doing?"
"Good. How are you doing?"
"Good. What do you want for today?"
"I want the best of the best."
In other words, he wanted the Interior Super Clean Package.
I rushed over to scrub the front and back of the cars.
Next, I let some of the SUVs go through the automatic wash.
I ended up drying off a few cars in the process. Then came the part I dreaded - interior cleaning
Jesse showed me all the special towels and sprays before I got started.
"This is a glass towel right here and if you can feel it. It's a little damp. That has the window product in it already."
After my short lesson, it was onto the interior.
"I tell you what man, I could go for a nice cold drink right now. I don't know how these guys do it."
Last but not least, cleaning the glass.
"Basically the outside of the frame, then the middle, then flip your towel and that's the perfect way to do a window."
I put a little elbow grease into it and get to all of the glass frames. Then I called it quits.
"Whew, this car wash business is not for the faint of heart."
