Chad, Do My Job: Hanging Christmas Lights

We're keeping up on the holiday spirit with this week's Chad Do My Job and for today I'm in charge of putting Christmas lights on a house. Hopefully we can get them on before sunset.
We're keeping up on the holiday spirit with this week's Chad Do My Job and for today I'm in charge of putting Christmas lights on a house. Hopefully we can get them on before sunset.

To help me with this Christmas project was non other than Gregg Curtis from Good Earth Green House.

"So tell me how long have you been putting Christmas lights up?"

"We've been doing lights up since we've had Good Earth, this particular house, I've been doing for ten years."

"Ten years? So you're familiar with this setup here?"

"Correct, yeah. It's a unique house and I love to doing this one."

"It's definitely an amazing house."

And it needed more lights hung up fast.

Gregg wastes no time in showing me the different lights to hang up.

We start with the gutters on the side of the home.

"You should never do what when putting Christmas lights up?"

"By yourself. (laughs) At all. If you're doing the ones by the shrubs out front but if you're going to be off the ground, at all, especially using a ladder, you want somebody on the ground to watch in case something happens."

That’s some good advice for all you decorators.

I finish my steady climb up the latter and hang a few icicle lights in place.

Next it's onto a scenic tree near the garage. I scaled a couple limbs and swung some lights on the branches near by.

Did i mention that putting up lights hurt?

After I tend to my war wound - Gregg and I uncoil spider web lights to put on the shrubs.

We did some rearranging and we we're done.

"Alright Gregg here we go. Three, Two, One."

"Only half of them are lit up. (sigh)."

Apparently we weren't done yet. We quickly discovered that one of the outlets didn't work so we changed it around and....

Ok --- now we're done.

"Gregg we finally got it done. All the lights are lit on this house, after so many hours, how did I do?"

"Not too bad."

"Not too bad?"

"Besides one little injury not too bad."

"Yeah, I had a little run in with the tree bark."

"Maybe next year."

"Ok, I'll take you up on that. Thanks."

"Thanks Chad."
