LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Charges of capital murder and attempted capital murder are among the more than dozen counts now filed against a Tennessee man in the shooting of two Army recruiters in Little Rock.
Abdulhakim Muhammad was charged Tuesday in the June 1 shooting death of 23-year-old Pvt. William Long and wounding of Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula (eh-ZAG'-u-la). The two were shot as they stood outside a recruiting station.
The capital murder charge allows for the possibility of the death penalty but Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney John Johnson declined to discuss the case.
Muhammad's attorney - James Hensley - didn't return a phone message.
Muhammad told The Associated Press in a June interview that he didn't consider the killing a murder because U.S. military action in the Middle East made the killing justified.
