Church Car Show
Church Car Show
It's a unique approach to getting people in the door Sunday morning, a free car show featuring some of the most unique automobiles in central Arkansas. The Little Rock Church on Baseline in southwest Little Rock spent the afternoon hosting an annual car show and it's getting bigger by the year.

For five years Joseph Wilkins has been souping up his 1989 Mazda truck.  "My grandpa gave it to me. It was his old work truck and I just started building it from there," he told us. He's just one of many car owners who are proud to show off their work.

Those with the Little Rock Church know this car show is an unusual way to get people interested in their church. Jeff Medders with the church told us, "there's a verse that says 'become all things to all men, so that by all means, you can save some.' So 'all means' is anything that works."

And the show seems to be growing their congregation. "We've had lots of people come visit, either that came to see the car show or that came to visit as an exhibitor in the car show," Medders said.

Medders says this is the third year they've done it and it's grown from only about 30 cars to more than 100. Sunday, the also had a play area for kids and a blood drive for the American Red Cross. For the exhibitors, even though there are no prizes in the show yet, they say it's a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Wilkins said, "I came all the way from Benton, you know. I don't want to pay anything. I just want to show off."
