Citizen Tip Prompts 2 Arrests

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office (BSCO) made two drug-related arrests on Friday thanks to the help of a concerned citizen.

BAXTER COUNTY, AR -- The Baxter County Sheriff's Office (BSCO) made two drug-related arrests on Friday thanks to the help of a concerned citizen.

Joseph Alvin Thompson, 56, and Jennifer Brandy Willett, 38, both of Mountain Home, were arrested and taken in without incident.

According to reports, the BCSO received at tip that drug activity was taking place on 16th Street in Mountain Home. At that point, law enforcement officials began an investigation and set up surveillance on the home.

Around 1:30 p.m., BCSO investigators along with the 14th judicial Drug Task Force and Probation and Parole entered the residence where they found several items of drug paraphernalia including pipes several baggies containing residue from suspected Methamphetamine, spoons with suspected drug residue and syringes and needles.

They also located a syringe with suspected Methamphetamine residue was in Willett's purse.

Thompson, who lives at the residence, has been charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $2,500 bond at the Baxter County Detention Center pending his Oct. 10 appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court at 9 a.m.

Willett faces the same charge of felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and is also being held at the Baxter County Detention Center pending her Oct. 10 appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court at 9 a.m.

An investigation into theft is continuing, as a pair of binoculars was found at the residence.
