Clark County Authorities Investigating Missing Person Case in NC

Clark County, AR - Authorities say a young woman found dead half way across the country could be tied to a missing person case back here in Central Arkansas.

After hearing from Clark County Authorities, police on a Cherokee Reservation in North Carolina started their search.

"Our agency did receive a BOLO from Clark County, Arkansas referencing a person that may be in danger - a missing person,"  confirmed Cherokee Police Chief Ben Reed to WLOS.

According to police there they found a vehicle tied to the missing person case in Clark County. They stopped the driver and took him into custody.

Chief Reed added, "After a search of the vehicle [we] located a deceased person in the trunk of that vehicle."

Authorities at the Clark County Sheriff's Office were seen in North Carolina helping in the investigation.

The man is in police custody. At this point, no names have been released. The woman's body has been sent for an autopsy.
