More than 1,000 guests, including former President Bill Clinton, celebrated the 5th anniversary of the Clinton Library.

On a day designed to mark a milestone, former President Bill Clinton announced plans for the future.  He wants to turn the Rock Island Railroad Bridge into a bicycle and pedestrian crossing.

"Although we have not secured all the funding, we are going to begin Rock Island Construction of the bridge in 2010," said President Clinton.

It's a project that has been in the works almost as long at the library itself. In five years, the $165 million dollar Clinton Library has come a long way in terms of driving tourism.

"I didn't know we would have 1.64 million visitors in five years, the economic tourism increase in attendance is truly remarkable," said President Clinton.

City leaders credit the library with spurring more than two billion dollars in new projects.
