Convenience store manager who stole lottery tickets sentenced

LITTLE ROCK, AR – A man who worked as the manager of the Raceway Gas Station on South University was sentenced Wednesday for theft of lottery tickets.

Alfred James Walker, Jr. was convicted on felony theft of property charges for stealing $1,500 worth of lottery tickets from the station last April. Judge Herb Wright sentenced Walker to 4 years of probation, a $5,000 fine, court costs, restitution, and 100 hours of community service.

My crytal ball says the same as itsjustme, he will not pay the fines or the restitution and the only thing in his future is CRIME

I was just gonna say that. Maybe he could use a WINNING lottery ticket to pay his fines. It seems he got off kinda easy. I hope he is counting his blessings.

He got probation because Arkansas has one of the weakest justice systems. He wont make restitution, he wont pay the fine. They will put a warrant out for him for contempt or failure to comply, arrest him after he is on the run for 4 or 5 years, give him more probation and so on. Until crime is punishable and criminals begin to get punished, nothing will change.

Did he cash in those lottery tickets that were winners? If so, he can pay the fine with his winnings. Why probation? This is a felony. He should do jail time. Now that he's gotten away with this with a slap on the wrist, other convenience store employees will feel they can steal them, too, and not really be punished.
