Conway Police Searching for Suspected Rapist

Conway Police are asking for help locating a man wanted for felony rape of a minor who escaped from CPD and U.S. Marshals around 1:00 Thursday afternoon.
CONWAY, AR -- Conway Police are asking for help locating a man wanted for felony rape of a minor who escaped from CPD and U.S. Marshals around 1:00 Thursday afternoon.

According to police, officers attempted to execute an arrest warrant on Hunt at a home on Black Road, but as they approached the house, Hunt ran out the back.

Police say two pit bulls were released from the house, which distracted officers as they attacked the Police K-9.

Officers lost sight of Hunt in a swampy, wooded area beyond the house.

Greenbrier police brought in their K-9 to help track Hunt, but the dog lost his scent at the swampy area.

Police say a full-scale search has been called off, but patrol officers will continue to be on the look out for Hunt, who may be armed and should be considered dangerous.

Anyone with any information on Hunt's whereabouts is asked to call Conway Police at 501-450-6120 or text an anonymous tip to CRIMES using keyword Conway.

A $500 reward is being offered by Central Arkansas Crimestoppers for information leading to the arrest of felony rape suspect Stanley Hunt.
