CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — A Conway firefighter is hospitalized after suffering an embolism during a training class in Hot Springs.

Fire Chief Bart Castleberry told the Log Cabin Democrat that firefighter Danny Collins was taking part in a dive class when he became tangled. Castleberry says another firefighter helped untangle the line — but that Collins had trouble breathing when he surfaced.

Castleberry says Collins was flown to a hospital in Shreveport, La., where he's in intensive care and being treated in a hyperbaric chamber.

An embolism is the blockage of a blood vessel. It was not immediately revealed where Collins suffered the embolism.
