Conway, AR. – A Danville man is in jail after a shooting which injured a Conway police officer. Police say Harley Inthisone shot Officer Matt Kimery while the officer was investigating a trespassing call on Martin Street just two blocks from UCA.

Officer Matt Kimery is in intensive care but he's alert and responding, so it looks like he's going to be fine. When you look at all the bullet holes and blown out windows at the scene it's hard to believe no one else got hurt.

“She was in a panic, she was real worried. I guess when the gunshots went off she dropped to the ground. She didn’t know what was happening,” said Robert Cline.

This is how Cline’s niece Nikki Fowler reacted as her ex-boyfriend, Harley Inthisone, fired shots outside of her Conway Apartment Tuesday night.

According to police one of the bullets hit Officer Matt Kimery as he and his partner answered a call about a trespasser.

“In the process of patting him down, he ran toward the apartment during that process officer Kimery was shot,” says Danny Moody with the Conway Police.

Officers fired back but Inthisone made it into the apartment and barricaded himself inside. After about four hours of trying to talk him out, police used explosives to blow out the windows. They got in and arrested him.

Fowler didn't want to speak on camera but Cline tells us she and Inthisone recently broke up.  He dropped by unannounced and she reluctantly let him in but when he started acting strange she slipped out of the house.

“When she left he brought a gun into the house and was waiting for her to come back. In my eyes there isn't any telling what could have happened if she did not come back with police,” said Cline.

Inthisone and Fowler had been dating on and off for about 10 years. Cline says in that time Inthisone has been known to be violent. He’s glad Inthisone is behind bars. He will appear in court Thursday morning.

May God be with Officer Kimery and make him well. He was there for us when we needed him last night. We get upset when we get a ticket and forget that the same officer will also be ready to give his life for us if we are in danger. JRP
