ladyofthehill; I understand what you are saying. My belief is that most judges have a God complex; but that will go away when they stand before Him for their own Judgment! Rumor has it a judge in Jax has been busted for DWI, and I've read in the paper about one or two of his kids being popped for drugs. Bet they had huge fines and did a lot of time! LOL Agree with you on the DA's also. Stands for Dumba** in my book. The idiots in Pulaski County's DA office have owed me an apology for 20 years now. We all know judges and DA's are or were lawyers, ( as are many politicans ); yet their profession's ranking as far as respect from Americans is at the bottom of the list; go figure.

Hey there is 2 ways of looking at this i can see both of your opinions Arkansas Yankee and AverageArky.I have a concealed weapon permit but,i also have sit in the court and listened to the Judge and if he came in with an attitude well now you know the rest of the story.If you don't do a good job they can sue you and if you do the jury could find you guilty so what do you do.This has always been a real concern of mine and i don't mean to offend anyone.Law enforcement and the judge and prosecutor around here has left a bad taste in my mouth.

opinionated, the lottery money must be used for scholarships and nothing else. It was voted that way and it is called "The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery" for that reason. As far as more cops, that isnt the answer. When the government makes it more appealing to live a life without working a real job to support you and your family, crime is going to be on the increase. When the cost of living is out of line with the average income, crime will be on the increase. When crime goes unpunished, criminals will continue to live the life. Cops can only arrest the criminals, they cant keep them in jail where they belong. What we need are local, state and national leaders that have a set and a back bone, we need to get away from this democrat vs. republican BS.

Yankee: Don't get me wrong... I would prefer to shoot him over robbing me too, but I have to look at jury would say in this messed up world. My main objective would be keeping my family safe and keeping their dad with them. Can't guarantee anymore that if I shot a guy jacking me for my wallet that the jury would agree with letting the air out of him.
