LITTLE ROCK, AR – Investigators are trying to determine the identity of a body found by workers spraying weeds. They are also trying to figure out how the victim died.

Cassandra Davis with Little Rock Police says officers were called to the 3300 block of South Woodrow Street, in Little Rock, just after 10:30 Saturday morning. There they found what appear to be the remains of a black male lying near the railroad tracks.

Davis says identification of the body could take some time because of the condition of the remains. She says it is unknown how long the body had been there or if the deceased is a crime victim.

Hope they identify this poor soul soon, so that if any family is around, they will get some closure at least. Had a brother-in-law come up missing 15 years ago this month. A road crew found him and two others 6 weeks later. The heat and the critters were not kind to the bodies; they were nothing but bones when found. Vehicle accident down an embankment where no one could see them. Road crew smelled the death was how they were located. If this person does have family; they may never know how or why the person died; or if this person was murdered, they may never find out who did it; but the good Lord knows everything, so may they find comfort in that knowledge.
