LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Arkansas Democrats are hoping to win against Republicans at the ballot box. Saturday, candidates shook hands with voters, asking for their support while stating party platforms.

"We are going to change Congress. We are just not going to fight Washington. What we are going to do is get up there and make a difference and we are going to make the country better," said 2nd Congressional District candidate Herb Rule.

Democrats say getting the economy going is one of the party's main targets.

"It's about working together and not party bickering. We have to work together to continue to carry Arkansas forward," said State Representative District 32 candidate Barbara Graves.

Creating better schools is another key component for Democrats.

"My goal is to keep strong education for our kids because that is the key to our strong economy anyway," said State Representative District 28 candidate Barbara Nix.

The countdown is on because voters will decide November 6.
