Deputies arrest multiple burglary suspect

BENTON, AR - Saline County deputies responded to burglary in progress on Mars Hill Road Wednesday and arrested a man they believe is responsible for multiple burglaries in the area.

The Mars Hill homeowner told deputies that he and his wife were in bed when they awoke to find a man on the floor going through some drawers. The man, 18-year-old Christopher Alan Muth, fled carrying a black bag but deputies were able to find and arrest him.

Deputies say that when they searched the black bag they found items stolen from the residence, along with a pistol and other items believed to have been stolen.

Investigators believe Muth is responsible for many burglaries that have recently occurred in the area. They are also looking for other suspects they believe to be involved.

Muth has been charged with Residential Burglary, 25 counts of Breaking and Entering, Theft of Property of a Firearm and 21 counts of Theft of Property.  He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
