LITTLE ROCK, AR – Dozens of costumed runners participated in the annual Mud Run Saturday morning. Organizers of the event say it is Little Rock’s dirtiest 5K, and the only thing serious about it is the mud.

Participants ran, walked, skipped, trotted or cavorted through the course, which wound through the scenic trails of Two Rivers Park. Participants had to overcome an "obstacle" or two along the way, then finish with a spectacular frolic through what is comically described as a world-renowned 300-foot mud pit, filled with rich Arkansas mud. The point is not to finish fast but to finish with style.

Proceeds from the event benefit Little Rock Parks and Recreation.
