A perimeter fence that is that loose is a USDA violation. My inspector used to try to force his foot under it. If he could bet his foot under it I was written up. What if they had a dangerous animal escape? Would it be able to get out with the public

I like roadking's idea best! It appears many others do also. Then we'd see how "tough" these pits were! LOL

I think they should catch them and put them in the lions' cage. That'll teach em.

@mom727 read this they did say what the dogs were Zoo staff discovered two medium sized dogs in the Children’s Farm exhibit during Thursday morning rounds: a pit bull and a white and brown pit bull-terrier mix. When approached by staff, the dogs escaped under the perimeter fence where they appeared to have entered the zoo.

Why won't Fox 16 identify the breed? The other stations did. Caving to the Pit Bull lobby is completely irresponsible. They were identified as pits by zoo staff. If there was a certain make/model of car, killing and maiming several times a week, EVERYONE would demand to know what kind it was. Please don't give in to the pit bull lobby/activist/breeders who attack the reporter and station every time you run a negative news story about pit bulls. Fox 16 leaving out the breed of dog is NOT going to make pit bulls stop attacking. Tell the public the TRUTH and let us form our own opinions.

Gee, these sound like some dogs from the neighborhood that came up "missing" after their owners loaded them in their vehicle and left. When the owners came home, the dogs weren't with them. Very strange!
