Entergy continues relying on social media to help keep customers informed during severe weather.

The CEO says the company learned customers are expecting more information, faster than ever. Entergy updates customers on Twitter and Facebook as well as through text messages and phone calls.

During the Christmas storm, over 6,000 people downloaded the Entergy app.

"During the Christmas ice and snow storm we took a concerted effort to make sure we are using tools our customers are using on a daily basis," says spokesperson Sally Graham.

The winter storm also prompted Entergy to create a new feature on it's Facebook page for hazards. If you see any leaning trees or downed lines, you can report them on that page.
