Pulaski County deputies are looking for an escaped inmate they consider to be armed and dangerous.

Deputies tell FOX16 news that 19 year-old Marlon Watkins, Jr. has somehow acquired a weapon and may be headed to the Pine Bluff area.

Sunday morning Watkins was being transported from the satellite center to the main jail to start work as part of the kitchen crew. Deputies say Watkins jumped into a jail van and drove it through a secured gate.

The van was found hours later on 26th and Jackson Street in Little Rock. His jail clothes were found near the van.

Watkins was in jail on drug possession, criminal use of a prohibited weapon, burglary, and theft of property.

If you know anything call Pulaski County Sheriffs Office at 501-340-6600.

Sthrnrsh, I know what their job duties intail. More than most. However, their job is to secure that those prisoners are kept from the public, and keep this from happening. They are trained for thier job and if they can't perform to the requirements than they need to be held responsible. And by the way, check your facts, those employees from the jail WERE armed. To bad they didn't know how to handle their weapon when it came time to prevent that thug from escaping. So tell me who is responsible ?

Chonca.... remember that the jailers are not officers. They are jailers; not police and certainly not deputies. They have no arreting athourity other than inside the jail and are not permitted to carry a weapon on duty. Besides that...I'm smell the umemployment number getting alittle higher on this one

Just that easy ? Jumped in the van and stole it. Just the thought of how easy it was made for him to do that, irritates me. HELLO ! He is a criminal. He isn't as stupid as law enforcement would like him to be. Now the public is endanger because those officers didn't take the right precaution to ensure something like this COULDN'T happen. How careless can they be. Hate to say it but they deserve for something like this to happen. Now, if this punk kills somebody, they should be held accountable for their neglagants.
