A former North Little Rock school district board member is under investigation in a child pornography case. While Trent Cox has not been charged with a crime, police are reviewing items obtained from a search of his home.

North Little Rock parent Ishan Abdullah is upset about the situation. "Children are supposed to come first so what about the kids in the situation? Are you here to help the children or hurt them?"

Sgt. Cassandra Davis with the Little Rock Police Department confirmed the charges. "The offense type is possession of child pornography and Mr. Cox is listed as a suspect on that report."

Sgt. Davis with Little Rock Police says they're not the lead on this investigation but one of their officers, along with the Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, served a search warrant at Cox's North Little rock home on September 17th.

According to the police report, they seized several computers, memory cards, CD's and his passport.

No one answered the door at Cox's home when we went to talk to him about the investigation. His attorney, Jack Lassiter, declined an on camera interview but did admit a warrant was served but no charges filed.

The North Little Rock school district isn't commenting on the investigation but officials did say Cox resigned from the board.

We also attempted to contact Cox at work but were told he is no longer affiliated with the company.

Trent Cox was serving his third term on the school board when he resigned. His term was set to expire in 2011.
