The use of the unemployed or inmates will never happen. When it comes to labor from FEMA to do clean up, the letters FEMA take on a new meaning...... Find Every Mexican Available.

I like the warden in Arizona - or he may be a Sheriff - anyway, he houses his inmates in tents and makes them wear pink uniforms, I think. Why shouldn't they work? Grow their own crops, build homes for the homeless, pick up debris after snow/ice? Clean up after tornados, etc., etc. Sitting on their a$$es watching cable tv, playing dominoes and eating Ramen noodles - what a life.

I agree 100%. If we have so many unemployed, then pay them a fair wage to help remove the debris. The only problem is, it is called work and it goes against most of their morals. Using the inmates is a good idea, but somehow it has to be against their rights to have to work while incarcerated. So, we will just stick to forking over tons of tax dollars to keep them locked up doing nothing and we will just keep spending tax dollars on those that refuse to get a job.

Excellent opportunity for the ranks of the unemployed - or inmates - rather than watching cable tv in a climate controlled facility. I am SICK AND TIRED of money taken from my pay check to subsidize the likes of the vast majority of inmates further sucking off the government's t!t to sit on their lazy a$$es and watch cable tv on my dime! GET THEM OUT AND PUT THEM TO WORK!!
