BAY, Ark. (AP) — Authorities in Craighead County say a motorist in an unmarked white car used a flashing blue light to pull over a female motorist from Truman.

Sheriff's investigators say the incident happened over the weekend when the woman turned south from U.S. Highway 63 onto Arkansas 463 near Bay.

Jonesboro television station KAIT reports that after the 19-year-old woman stopped, the man who pulled her over asked her to get out of her car. The woman kept her door closed and a man who was a passenger in the car that stopped her tried to open her passenger door.

The woman drove away and contacted authorities.

Investigators are still looking for the suspects, who headed toward Bay after the woman drove off.

Law Enforcement says you can call and confirm with 911/dispatch if there is an officer in your area and if the officer is a real officer. If not, stay on the line and they will send an officer to you. I am a woman and I will NEVER pull over for an unmarked car! No decent law officer will fault you for staying in your car or driving slowly to a safe area. I also don't pull over in a dark area or an unpopulated area. I will flag the officer behind me with my hand out the window and I point to a safer place. I have never had any problems with this.

very true itsjustme and there are so many unmarked patrol cars out there.. it makes you wonder if it's a real cop or what...and they can buy those used cop cars with the spot light still on them and look just like a cop..see them all the time in LR...so I think that if cops are going to be pulling people over in traffic, they should be completely marked, with blue lights on top..Heard a story of a woman who was being pulled over by an unmarked car and she called 911 and said that she's not pulling over until she gets to a populated area and the dispatcher relayed that to the cop that was pulling her over and he let her do that without charging her with fleeing. But yes, she's very lucky that's she's ok.

If she contacted authorities quickly, I'd say she was in the clear even if they had turned out to be officers. And officers don't typically shoot people fleeing in cars.

This could have turned out bad for her in a couple of ways. If she had gotten out, these two POS would have done her bodily harm. If this had been real cops and she took off, she could have been shot, or she would have been facing criminal charges for leaving. Unless she could have proven she was fearing for her safety.
