At the peak of the winter storm, 30,000 Entergy customers lost power. Everyone, except 500 customers in Pine Bluff and Stuttgart, should have it back by Sunday night. While the ice may look pretty, it's causing headaches across Grant and Jefferson County.
"My mom had a power line across her driveway. She couldn't get in and out of her driveway the whole time," said Jessica Ray. She lost power Friday afternoon. "Me, and my mom, and my grandma, it knocked all our power out, and so, I knew I was going to be going home to a cold house, and then I was going to stay with my friend, Holly, but then her power was out, too," she added.
So, Ray and her friend, Holly, teamed up, taking their families to a hotel for two nights as a fleet of linemen from Arkansas and beyond got to work fixing their power problems.
"We saw a very nice gentleman yesterday that was from Louisiana that had come up here to work and we just told him be careful," Ray said.
Now, Ray is just happy to be back home with her family, dog and three puppies.
"We had to go and get the puppies last night to check on them and make sure they were warm, and so that was one of my biggest concerns was my dogs. Plus, pretty much worried about everything in my refrigerator," she said.
