LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Family and friends of Kevin Ives and Don Henry gather at the Saline County courthouse, hoping justice will come for the two teenagers who lost their lives 25 years ago Thursday.

Investigators say the boys were hit by a train and autopsies show someone first killed them.

But the person or people responsible never faced charges.

Even though a lot of time has passed since 1987, their families still have hope witnesses will surface.

"We know there were people out there who were afraid to come forward. But we hope over the years they have change their minds and they will come forward. Hopefully, we can get enough information to solve this case, " said Larry Ives, father of Jevin Ives.

Thursday morning, family and friends held a rally for justice at the State Capitol as well.

wp; read the list in an article once; can't remember if it was a magazine or newspaper. But I do remember the list was indeed a long one.

Speaking of Miss Ward; I read many an article in the paper, and watched the ABC special. Covered up by DA's, an ASP investigator, local authorties such as police, first responders, coroner - the list is a long one. May they all rot in Hell. Do any of you hear me? Your time will come! And to the one that killed her; your time will come also, Praise God! Rot and burn - each and everyone of you.

I can tell you how you know just because of the way you say don't ask. That is just what Granny was talking about. The wanting to shoot off the mouth about what we know. Yes there was some criminal activity in Mena. It involved the airport. No customs and it can be flown to from the border in lot of smaller planes used to smuggle. To think that that was involved with a money drop by the CIA is foolish. Why? Look at all the open land around Mena. Lots easier to drop outside a populated area. Less likely to be noticed. There were a few of this sized rings in Arkansas back then. Most knew of each other. Some used each other at times. The biggest thing I remember are a few basic things I learned from them. Never caused a stink in your own yard. No telling how many lie in a fresh grave. The only way to keep a secret is to just tell one person and then kill them. The best way to git even is to find what they love and destroy it. No, this was not done by a large drug ring or Government agency. The bodies would not have been found. It was done by someone close to them with the ability to keep that mouth shut.

This event happened 3 years before I moved back here. But it came up in the newspaper now and again. Arkansas Times wrote an excellent article many years ago on the Mena Airport and a former "Drug Czar" of the US ( an Arkansan ). Seems some are immune from prosecution, or even being investigated. Look at the Janie Ward case also. I believe in God; I believe that Jesus is the Son of God; and I believe justice will be served when the perps face their Maker! You ( the perps ) may be immune down here; but your influence will not get you anywhere when that time comes! Burn baby burn!

This was not done by a large group working together. No way. It was one or maybe two that knew how to keep their mouth shut. Why do I say this. The most solved cases are just that because someone wanted to brag. Then there was the rifle. Some said that they might of been useing a light and the gun looking for deer. Can't be. Drug dealers would have to be pretty lax to let two boys shining a light, talking, and the other noise that they would make, to slip up on them. Didn't happen. I'd say look closer to home to find the answers. Whoever did this was known well enough to get close to the boys without spooking them.

One story is that they witnessed a CIA money drop that was part of the whole Iran-Contra, drugs for weapons scheme that involved the Mena airport. Pretty sloppy work for the CIA (in my opinion) but the guys on the ground probably weren't CIA (the money was allegedly dropped from a plane). Sounds pretty far-fetched but the Mena Airport thing really did happen (don't ask me how I know).

Thre is no such thing as the perfect crime, just sloppy or apathetic investigation. When the findings of the first autopsy were revealed, the first thing I would have dona as an investigator was begin looking into the life and background of the first Medical Examiner. Track down his know associates, look at his finances for unexplained expenditures, checking or savings deposit records, and the same for all his associates. For him to make such a wide sweeping claim and to miss such visual evidence as the stab marks on one boy and the blunt force trama on the other screams of paid cover up. I would also begin looking at the first officers on the scene as well as the first investigator, checking their financial histories and known associates also. If it was a drug trafficking cover up, there is no telling how high up it would have went or who was involved. The evidence found so far suggests the boys were witnesses to something that someone wanted hidden. Was the FBI brought in? If not, why? Where is the oiginal notes of the first officers on scene? The investigaton wasn't sloppy, it was staged!
