WHITE COUNTY, AR – Authorities are investigating a fire that left one woman dead. Corporal Steve Hernandez with the White County Sheriff’s Office tells us initial indications are the fire started in a wood burning fireplace.
38 year old Tiffany Weatherford died in the blaze, Saturday, at her home on Swinging Bridge Road near Beebe. Deputies found Weatherford’s body only about five feet from the fireplace believed to be the cause of the fire.
The Beebe, McRae, Antioch and El Paso Fire Departments responded to the blaze. The White County Sheriff's Office says there’s no reason to believe foul play was involved, but the incident is under investigation.
Weatherford was the only person in the home at the time of the fire. Her body is at the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy. Beebe firefighters also asked the state fire marshal's office to investigate.
