Fire destroys building on Hwy 161

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - Fire crews from McAlmont and Sherwood were called out just after 6am Wednesday morning to put out a fire at a body shop in the 6700 block of Highway 161.

The shop was destroyed and the highway was closed in both directions for about three hours.

Lt. Carl Minden tells FOX16 that the road is open and traffic is moving through the area.

McAlmont Fire Chief Bobby Moss says the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
