I bet you can buy fireworks dirt cheap tonight! I might just go buy some and store them in a old 20mm ammo can for next year!

@screamer - I'm not old, nor lonely, and frankly I don't have much invested in my lawn and landscaping, that's not the aim of my comment. What I am tired of is the continued ignorance of city officials in realizing the dangers of the dry conditions mixed with fireworks...and better yet, the double-standard by Maumelle's city council to allow a large fireworks show while residents are banned, the large amount of precious water to wet down areas near the fireworks while the rest of the city must preserve water. It's not a complaint as much as statement on once again how the city officials have their own set of rules to play by. Are the fireworks REALLY necessary to enjoy the fourth?

Golfdude2 & topgear11, U two must be old & lonely guys. You two should move in together that way you two can complain all day to each other since a little noise irritates you. Your grandkids must feel like they're in a prison when their parents make them visit you. Loosen up enjoy life for once. Your precious yards & shrubs will continue to grow because they're going to let you water them once a week.

Sorry, but I'm with golfdude...the conditions are too dangerous for fireworks, and even with the water restrictions put on the residents the city will waste hundreds of gallons wetting down the area around the lake so they can have their precious fireworks show. Save the fireworks for New Years or next year, and save the water too....my landscaping has to die, but the city's leaders see this as necessary to have their fireworks show. Bunch of idiots.
