I was a passenger aboard this flight 880 to Indy, and I was impressed with the pilots honesty, and skill in handling an aging old plane while landing on one engine. They were heros in my mind because the unstability in landing with one reverse flow can and did create a dangerous wobble to the landing. Mechanical braking was hard, but the crew kept it straight on the runway. They positioned the plane for fire inspection before getting us to the terminal, and explained their actions to all of the passengers ! The situation could have been much worse. Kudos to these pilots, and I'm surprised this incident did not hit national news ! The pilots should also be praised for their actions. The FAA should ground all these ancient MD 80 & 90 aircraft as they are the oldest airframes and engines in the US today. They have been plagued with many issues over their life and should be discontinued in service.
