PINE BLUFF, AR -- Former Pine Bluff Police Chief Brenda Davis-Jones has appealed her termination to the city attorney and is now awaiting a hearing date.

In a letter dated January 2, Davis-Jones requested a special call meeting to appeal her firing. As standard procedure, a review board -- made up of city employees -- must schedule a hearing for the chief.

Moments after being sworn in, Mayor Debe Hollingsworth fired Davis Jones and tapped Jeff Hubanks to become the interim chief. Davis Jones had served as chief since 2010.

Working with Chief Jones was a pleasure, she not only portray's skills and ability but professionalism to the upmost. I did not agree with some of her standards but who am I when it comes to submitting to authority. It is such a shame that our country has lost it values to respect those in authority and leaders in local, state and national government regardless of race, cultural background, gender or beliefs. I just wonder what the naysayers have done to support this individual in leading a police department that look's as though need's Jesus more than anything and I wonder about the cowards that sat back allowed this public ridicule. Don't get me wrong, I believe in having intergrity to the upmost but those of you who threw your stones and have hidden your faces behind the internet, how are you really adding up in your own life. All of us have issues to work through so who are you to display and ridicule a government leader in public. You better bet, we reap what we sow, so get ready, your downfall is next. I have added references from the Bible that back's up what we as subordinates are suppose to be doing when it comes to our leaders, don't bother to read it if you don't believe in the HOLY BIBLE because you wouldn't understand it anyway so choose to continue to be ignorant or choose wisdom and be about the right thing. If the new mayor made a decision based on facts and proof of misconduct, then so be it, the rest of you need to just shut up about it; your day is coming. 1 Peter 2:13 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme,Proverbs 11:18 The wicked man does deceptive work, But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward. Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Galatians 6:8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

She needed to be fired, but she is due her appeal. However, if the panel is made up of city employees, she is screwed. LOL.
