Four suspects arrested in Alexander shootout

ALEXANDER, AR – Three men have been charged with attempted murder in connection to Monday’s drug shootout in Alexander. Police say that the home has had a history of drug-related problems.

Arrested in connection to the shooting are 51-year-old John Hayes, 32-year-old Joshua Green, 32-year-old Jason Harcourt, and 25-year-old Jamar “Little Baby” Williams.

Three of the men are currently in jail. Hayes was able to post the $150,000 bond and is currently at home. Alexander Police say that his home is being “heavily guarded” at this time.

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, the shootout happened at 15390 Lindsey Drive, which is Hayes’ residence. Investigators say that between 15 and 20 shots were fired during the altercation between the 4 men.

Authorities believe that after the shootout, Green took Hayes to Saline County Memorial Hospital with a single gunshot wound. Law enforcement arriving on scene found Harcourt lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Police say methamphetamine and hundreds of dollars in cash were found on him. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Two days later, Green was arrested at his home in Little Rock. The sheriff’s office says that 4 guns believed to be used in the shootout were found at Green’s home.

The following day, Thursday, Williams was arrested in Benton for his role in the shootout.

For Robert Lester, who lives in the neighborhood, Monday’s shooting was the last straw. He is moving his family out of Alexander.

"It's too much. My family is out if here,” said Lester. “This place right here is infested with drugs.”

A neighborhood infested with drugs, and according to Lester, gunfire is nothing new. “That’s nothing new out here. Nope. That’s nothing new for out here.”

Now, he is packed up and leaving Alexander. “You don’t ever know when a bullet is going to come through the house,” said Lester. “It’s over for me out here, I won’t be back.”
