Wednesday, former Governor Mitt Romney attended fundraisers in Little Rock. The events raised more than $2-million for his campaign.

The events ranged from a $2500 ticket to see Romney give a speech to $25,000 to eat dinner with him at the Capital Hotel. U.S. Congressman Tim Griffin tells FOX16 about 35 people attended the private dinner, and many asked about and praised Romney for his Vice Presidential choice of Paul Ryan.

Prior to the dinner, about 250 people attended the speech in which Romney talked about energy independence, education reform and getting rid of Obamacare.

Protesters and supporters filled the sidewalks outside the downtown hotels before and during the fundraisers.

Security made sure only those with tickets and invitations to the events saw the former governor.

The Romney campaign has not yet said whether the Republican presidential candidate will return to Arkansas this year.

Thought you were close to me in age. I reckon some would call me an old "hippie" due to the length of my hair. Think I tried everything but herion and acid, never put a needle in my arm though. Done with all that now though. Just have the "look". Yes, going to be an interesting race. And no matter who wins, interesting to see how the next 4 years go. Wasn't putting down hippies; but during Nam, they seemed to be drawn to the Dems, the dove party back then.

On with the games. I knew this election year would be a site to behold. I'm an old hippie. Some of the best people are. I think I turned out some what sane to have lived through my teens in the 60's.

pat; We had a war hero run last time. The Greatest Generation is fading away, leaving us with old hippies, and their offspring, the yuppies. Guess we'll just have to live with it until WW III.

shon1; what is a rino? He is a war hero. Used to be, a man like that was respected; but respect has gone out the window the last few generations. More than likely has something to do with food stamps, welfare, and HUD. Gangs. Illegal's flooding the country, taking jobs that could go to people born here; jobs they are entitled to over illegal's. I wonder how many yuppies that voted for Obama lost jobs or homes the last 3 and a half years? Wonder if they wish they could go back in time and vote again! Would like to see those called out by trident to answer his question also; well?

SORRY BUT I THINK IT IS OBSCENE THE MILLIONS/BILLION SPENT ON CAMPAIGNING. And we are forced to elect the most powerful man in the world BASED UPON QUESTIONABLE PERSONAL ATTACKSM, OUT AND OUT LIES, OUT OF CONTEXT ACCUSATIONS, ETC ETC ETC Why can't we have a REAL MAN with a backbone and a real plan. They can't promise anything because of the Congress involvement...all they can tell us is what they will try to do FOR US. IT IS SHAMEFUL, DISGUSTING, DISPICABLE, DISHONORABLE, JUVENILE ANTICS OUT OF SUPPOSEDLY INTELLIGENT, EDUCATED IN THE BEST SCHOOLS WHINEY, CROOKED, MANIPULATORS. WE DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS. God Bless America.

LMAO at the Dem idiots like Downtown Dan and Shon. Obama has these fundraisers all the time in places like LA and NY and yet when Romney does it "it's the 1% supporting the 1%". Well can you 2 clowns tell me what is is when Obama does it? People like you are a disgrace to our great country with your hypocricy.

35 people gave him 2 million dollars. The 1% supporting the 1%. It just goes to show that the republicans don't care about the average working man. They only care about the rich. Romney offers no solutions just talking points. This reminds me of the 2008 election. Obama/Biden vs a rino and a tea partier. Hopefully we will have the same result this year.

@ Downtown Dan...I thought the same thing when I saw this on the news. I am still amazed at how so many Arkansans seem to support candidates that are not making decisions that are in their best interest. I work in the healthcare industry as an advocate for Medicare beneficiaries and educator of Medicare policies. My work has allowed me to travel the entire state and boy, it is shocking to hear the misinformation being spread. You should see the faces of those who come and learn the truth about the ACA and Medicare...they are always surprised to learn how misinformed they are on these two topics.

It is not the DREAM Act. 0bama signed an Exeutive Order. Harry Reid won't bring it or a budget up for a vote.
