Arkansas Yankee: No offense taken and yes, it is great that all can have an opinion. I DO value yours as well as mine. Sad that there are sooooo many churches that make folks feel unwelcome because of appearance. I am sure that there would be some at my church that would make you feel out of place. I don't look like you, but there are those that make me feel out of place because I am not a native of the town-very clickish. But I don't care because I am not there for them. I can tell you that I would welcome you. I try to do it everytime I see somebody new. It is sad that so many folks will never darken a churches door (any church) because of this very thing. Or the way they were "welcomed" years ago. Have a blessed day Arky-Yankee.

Calm down folks, nothing to get exited about here. I personally do not agree with homosexual marriage but if a man wants to sign an agreement to cuddle up next to another man's hairy butt for the rest of his life then that is his business. I say let them get married and experience the emotional pain and financial devastation of divorce like heterosexuals. Give it a few years and they will be glad to go back in the closet.

I didn't mean to imply you were judging anyone. Isn't America great! We can agree to disagree. Didn't use the 'net to find that either. I know how the Heavens and the Earth were Created. Would I really be welcome in your church? I'm moving to a different church because I'm not welcome in mine, except for a few long time friends and the pastor. And I'm a founding member of that church. I wear blue jeans, motorcycle boots, a button down shirt, and my leather vest to church; and I'm looked down on for doing so. I have suits, but outgrew all of them. I have a nice pair of dress shoes, but they don't fit any more. The only drugs I use are the one's the VA gives me. I don't imbibe in alcohol. And I'm trying to give up cigarettes. Yep, my church is full of people that judge me for the way I look; and I imagine every church, everywhere, has the same kind of people in it, including yours. Oh, did I mention I haven't had a haircut in many years? And I grow a beard in the winter; it keeps me warmer on the bike. Funny that; when I see pictures on here of child molesters, tweekers, perverts, and other assorted criminals - most of them have short hair, just like the suits and ties that go to the churches I've been in. But we have found a church that will welcome us, regardless of how I look. Isn't God great! Peace be with you AverageArky! And to those of you wanting this on the ballot; I'm not signing any petitions, nor do I know very many that will; good luck.

If we have to talk Med MJ again, jump on down to Genesis 1:29-31 if we are going to refer to Genesis and the weed statement. "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." There are a bunch of references to good medicine and altering ones mind and body... but to me, I can't see making the jump from "meat" to smoking pot. Doesnt take much of an internet search to find that one used alot though.

ArkansasYankee: I fail to see in my comment where I judged. I said scripturally it is wrong but I don't hate anyone. I just won't say "if it feels good do it." I agree 100% with your comment abut loving the sinner and disliking the sin. I sin every day. I know it, I do my best not to repeat it and press on. I just think that Christians are too complacent and too quiet about there beliefs. I believe we are called to go out and spread the Word not look the other way. If that is judging guess I'm guilty. As for Genesis 1:11 & 12... if the reference to weeds and herbs from the earth mean we should smoke the weeds, then we should all be able to snort some blow if THAT helps a headache. It's from a plant too. For the last time, I am not against using weed as medicine. It obviously has medicinal properties. But, I did not like the lax way the law was worded... and voted against it. If it looks the same next time, i will vote against it then. It looked like a huge effort for more tax revenue to me. I say, make it Federallly legal for real medical development and dispense it. As far as I'm concerned, we can agree to disagree.

AverageArky; It's not my job to judge them; that job belongs to a higher power than me! If you truly believe in the Scriptures, then you already know God loves the sinner, but dislikes the sin. Jesus didn't spend his time among the suits and ties, he spent it among the sinners. And if you voted against Med weed; then I guess you don't believe Genesis 1:11,12? Just sayin'. rodiepol; We already are aware of that; God help us! Leatherneck; I'm with you. I've had preachers tell me animals don't go to Heaven. How can it be Heaven if Freckles, Bubba, Casey, and Roxy ain't there? Hope you win the election when it comes up; but wish you'd do a little research on medicinal weed also! Peace out everyone.

Sorry, it is wrong. Biologically and scripturally. I am a Christian and I did vote against the Med Weed issue just for the record but that is a different story. Those that say the are Christian and gay acts are ok with "their god" are not reading the same book from the God. A serious problem in the world today is folks molding Christianity to fit their lifestyle. "I am a good person, I give, I will go to Heaven." Nope. Does not work that way. Jehovah through Jesus Christ is the only way. And Christians are called to preach it...so I cannot say it is "ok if you just do it in private." It's just not. I don't hate you, you are welcome at my house or church any time. But don't expect me to be quiet about it.

To those that think animals do not have souls. You obviously don't have a clue and have never spent anytime around domestic or wild animals. As for this article. For once I am not going to say anything. I know hard to imagine huh? If it makes it to the ballot, that's when I will have my say.

It's amazing that when this topic comes up the proponents of same sex marriage always use a loose interpretation of "Civil Rights", just remember the rights work both ways, if you believe it's your right to be gay I still have my Rights to believe it's WRONG.
