LITTLE ROCK, AR -- A passionate crowd gathered at the Arkansas State Capitol Saturday, as gun right supporters send a message to local and national lawmakers.
The rally was part of the National Guns Across America movement.

"Leave the law the way it is. Leave the constitution, with the second amendment, the way it is," said supporter Gloria Pinion.

Planners say something must be done to combat gun violence. But any kind of gun ban is not the answer.

Supporters say lawmakers are not listening to the American people, pointing at the presidents recent executive order to strengthen gun laws.

"When you see something like these school shootings happen, the only way to stop that is to have someone there with a gun," said supporter Richard Burke.

Ralliers say gun bans do not prevent gun crimes.

"I believe the right to bear arms should include the right for law abiding citizens to conceal carry everywhere we go," said rallier Adam Skarda.

Gun control is an idiots plan to curb crime. Crime control is a smart man's plan to make the country safer. Is anyone of our elected leaders promoting the second one?

Now Gillham is a person that has some common sense, and knows his/her history. Not the "feel good" kind they teach certain groups; but the real thing. I've said it before, I'll say it again - allow the Feds to take your guns, and the other Bill of Rights will be next; only an idiot would think otherwise. Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

As a Law Enforcement Officer... Folks... that weapon I carry... It's to protect me! I hate to be so blunt about this subject... It's just the truth. So... If I were you, I’d hold on to my 2nd amendment rights in order that you may protect youself from the thugs and as history has shown... the Police as well.

Interesting exchange. Food for thought and all that. From some of your posts on other stories, you had me fooled; I thought you were coming out against guns, and owning them. My mistake. I fully agree with you; enforce the laws on the books for a start. Lock violent offenders up for long periods of time, very long. Background checks across the board ( although I don't understand "universal" background checks - does that mean inhabitants from other worlds? ) Yes, we know where you fish. And we are all aware of your standing invitation. Me? I'd just like to meet you and say hi, and shoot the breeze; don't want to shoot anything else. Not my style Butch. We have a lot in common; you used to ride, I still do; we're both Army; we like the same music; we were born a couple years apart; we've been to some of the same places; and we might even know some of the same people, you never know. cmducks is a veteran also I believe. Isn't it a great country! Peace out guys.

I've never said one shouldn't protect family, body, and property. I think maybe I should have learned to express myself better. I'm not against guns. I'm against people that kill and what their doing to our gun rights. I have a rap sheet that you could use to repave 40 all the way to Memphis with. I never carried a gun. My crime partner is doing life. I know how criminals think about everyone else. A lot of my friend are a little shady. They could care less it's all about them and what they want. What I'm shooting for is for the people with the desire to keep their guns to go to working together to slow down the violence with them. No hand to hand sales, Businesses set up for the selling from one individual to another for the purpose of background checking,And booths at gun shows for the same purpose. The government we elected should find a way at no added expense. Or if nothing else at the increased fines and charges to the criminals. I also don't like the ones that shoot off their mouths about their guns. It's another swing at the right to have them Sometimes I use an ironic twist to try to get a few thinking. Why do we need guns that shoot 50 rounds per clip. If you haven't hit what your shooting at in a couple of rounds your no shoot. All there handy for are the nut cases that get them to have many bullets to fire into a crowd. Some changes are in order but never the disarming of the American public. Hell man I'm a VET. You know I believe in guns. Just not over kill.

One more thing. As far as not being afraid to die. If you bring some of that a-whoop,breakin,robery or family harm and a man pulls his smoke waggon on ya to defend it all. You have to make a choice.... Is it really worth it??? Do I really want to take the chance on this one? More than likely you will choose to find something or some one els that isn't such a threat. Sorry Butch wasn't trying to get your hackles up. It is a meen world out there and getting worse by the day. If you can't defend against any or all. Than if they can run you over... They will. I don't see a problem with evening the odds a little bit. It doesn't matter how big bad meen and ugly you are. There's always some one out there that is just a little bit badder... Or is packing.

But if you put me in that corner... I'm coming out!!! By what ever means nessecery.

I've always considered my self a law abiding citizen. But if they ban my guns than I will be an outlaw becouse I will not give up my guns. As far as ammo. I am equipped to load my own. In order to stop that they will have to ban alot more than just guns. And Butch.... I hope you have some pretty good sized fellows protecting you 24/7. We already know your legs don't work so your not kicking any ones a$$ and evedently you want everyone to know that you have no guns or brains either. You are a sitting duck. Take that for what its worth my friend. At this point with the nonsense you've been talking. I beleive your loosing ground. Guns are here to stay and so is ammo.

I agree that gun control is not the answer. You people got that right. Ammo control is. Take it off the shelf. I know people will kill with a paper weight if that's all that is handy, but it gives the victim a fighting chance. Leave our gun laws alone. Let everyone have them. Just stop the making, selling, and possession of them a violation of the law.
