LITTLE ROCK, AR -- For gun lovers, the Arkansas Gun & Knife show is paradise. They see firearms in all sizes for sale.

"Most of them are for hunting purposes.  That's the reason we sell them,” Don Coulon of All Season’s Pawn & Loan said.

Coulon said just because customers leave out brandishing their guns doesn’t mean they want everyone to know they have one.  It’s now up to members of the State House to vote on keeping permit holders’ names and addresses sealed from public record.

It overwhelmingly passed in the Senate.

"If you get one the right way, you should have one without people knowing you do,” Coulon said.

State Representative Andy Davis (R-31) is sponsoring the bill in the House. He said publishing the information could jeopardize security among gun owners.

"It identifies those who own valuable firearms and may actually make them a target for thieves,” Davis said.

That’s how Davis plans on presenting the bill to his colleagues.  He has the backing of permit holders.

"It might be a way some of these people that have restraining orders out and could find them and could take some violent action against them,” Paul Crutchfield.

If the "powers that be" are going to make our names public, then they might as well allow us to open carry.

I agree with cmducks and itsjustme, I have all of the guns that I need and it is no one's business but mine. This POS idea will never go anywhere, too many lawsuits would follow.

Oh yea!!!! Guess the criminals are to dumb to read a list. Where do you think they will go if they need a gun to commit a crime. I know where to put the list. Right up the gas maker that thought it was a good idea.

Im not a felon, Ive never broken any laws with a gun or related to a gun, I served over 3 decades in the military. Its no ones business if I own a gun or have a CCP. This is yet another attempt by the govt. to take away my rights, invade my privacy and stick their noses where it dont belong.

IT IS INSANE TO EVEN DISCUSS MAKING GUN OWNERS NAMES PUBLIC. SHAKING MY HEAD...WHERE ARE THEIR BRAINS? DO THE GOV OFFICIALS WHAT THEIR NAMES ON THAT LIST? HELLLL NO. MAKES ANYONE WITH A GUN A TARGET FOR ROBBERY AND A TARGET FOR THE GUN OWNER.

I don't have a ccp yet,but when I do get one,I do NOT want my name on a list like I bought something at radio shack!According to this poll so far, there are 7 people that are smart, and 2 people that just don't have a clue. To diggity- If I were your neighbor I would acctually like my name to be on a list, because, the robbers would know I had a gun and rob your house instead of mine!!!To arkyny-If you want to be a sheep and follow the herd be my guest. But remember what Ben Franklin said-"Make yourselves sheep and the wolves will eat you!And if you think that the only robbreies are made with guns, you are horribly wrong!About 50%of robberies are commited with out guns!(FBI and law enforcement data for 2012) Check your facts before you open your mouth and sound stupid! SUPPORT YOUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS!!!

My daughter just returned from 8 yrs in Honduras. They bought some land...was gov land, not to be sold but no recourse back to the lawyer that sold it to them...very long interesting story. They sold a motorcycle before they left...takes a couple of lawyers and paperwork has to go to the gov for approval, etc. before you get your money...HOWEVER, THEY DO HAVE ARMED GUARDS AROUND THE RANCH THEY WERE MISSIONARIES ON AND IN TOWN. In other words, the government there KNOWS EVERYTHING you do. ANYONE THINKING THE NAME OF "WHO OWNS A GUN" SHOULD BE PUBLIC INFORMATION IS CRAZY....DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL. OF COURSE, YOU WOULD BE A TARGET FOR ROBBERY.

Trying to hide something are ye? How many store robberies are carried out without a gun? Hardly none at all. Why have a gun. If there were no guns then we would have a safer world to live in!! Guns are for the power hungry rednecks that deep down have a vengeance on something.
