STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Tyler Russell threw for 274 yards and four touchdowns to lead Mississippi State to a 45-14 victory over Arkansas on Saturday.

The win snaps a three-game losing streak for the Bulldogs (8-3, 4-3 Southeastern Conference). It also ends a three-game losing streak against the Razorbacks.

Arkansas (4-7, 2-5) moved the ball well to open the game and led 14-7 early in the second quarter. But a series of turnovers and miscues gave life to Mississippi State on both sides of the ball. The Bulldogs led 17-14 at the half and took control of the game for good in the third quarter. Arkansas finished with five turnovers.

LaDarius Perkins finished with 137 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns for Mississippi State. Chad Bumphis caught six passes - two for touchdowns - setting a single-season school record.

For Arkansas, Tyler Wilson finished the game 23 of 29 for 225 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Heard on the news something about Gruden being considered, or something to that affect. Maybe there is still hope for the future!

I doubt recruiting will go that well the next year or two, maybe longer. Looks like guzzler may make even more the next couple of years. And someone was right at the beginning of the season; they are headed to the "Toliet Bowl"! How sad for a team that only lost 2 games last year, the 2 that played for the National Championship at that.

Very good point charlie, even though the piggies have made me a small fortune this year with the bookie, it is truly incredible that Jeff Long was STUPID enough to hire John L. Smith. First, Long should be fired for having this kind of PI$$ poor judgement and Smith has displayed the mentality of an inbred moron that has allowed the team to run itself.

They should do background checks when recruiting also! LOL The defense this year seemed more focused on defense attorneys.

This proves that UofA wasted $850K by hiring John L. Smith!
